By YUGEL LOSORATA Eleven days after the reported official closure of MTV Philippines, the top guy from the Filipino company is now poised to determine the future of the music channel in the country by stating that local MTV will be back this March. In a phone interview with the Manila Bulletin, Francis Lumen, Chairman and CEO of All Youth Channel, Inc., said that the closure is but temporary and the reason behind is that, "Viacom, MTV’s mother company in New York, already decided to allow a local company to solely take hold of the channel’s programming." He further explained, "The joint venture between NBC and MTV Philippines has ceased to exist. All Youth Channel, Inc. is now charge of MTV Philippines and we’re re–launching the new–look local MTV by March this year." This has cleared the question as to the fate of MTV Philippines after officially closing on the midnight of January 1. Currently, the channel airs MTV shows from Singapore with foreign VJs at the helm. "It is argued that a local entity can do a better programming because it would know what the market needs and wants," Lumen stressed. He disclosed that the new management is thinking of retaining some of the programs aired by the previous one, as well as introducing newer shows. All are just in the talks, so to speak. Same is true as for the fate of regular VJs Marc Abaya, Cindy Kurleto, and KC Montero. They may all return to their much–loved job by March or some new faces will appear in their place. An earlier interview on Abaya revealed that the band vocalist still hopes to have his duty back, if given the chance. MTV’s last big event before its surprising closure was December’s MTV Music Summit participated in by numerous solo artists and bands. The updated online encyclopedia Wikipedia put that, "After seven years of partnership with NBC, MTV Philippines was reunited with MTV SEAsia and MTV Channel 41 had been closed on midnight of Jan. 1, 2007."

Local MTV and music fans reacted affectedly to the said closure and considered it as real bad news. Many argued that without the local shows on MTV, Pinoy artists in general have lost a big venue to appear on, making it extra difficult exposure-wise since they would have to find for their doors via MTV’s rival channels. "There is no cause for alarm now. We only have to wait until March and we are guaranteeing more shows catering to Filipino audience and music. We’re also going to produce more concerts," assured the noted radio man. All Youth Channel, Inc. will also soon open a music channel set to tap the more mature audience of 25–45 age bracket. |

•Carol wanted to be an early bird that night, cos as promised early birds will get shirts and other freebies but after few hours she changed her mind. She texted us na ma-late daw sya cos she still has to watch Dicta in MTV Live.
•Lei was already in the meeting place, wherelse but in KFC and I just woke up from a nap. I slept for a few hours since me and my friend had a movie marathon after 2 months rest.
• Was along Pasong Tamo and texting Lei where should I meet her. I'm undecided still whether in KFC or Saguijo. Baka kasi tapos na sya kumain eh. But I got no single reply from her. I assumed she was already in Saguijo so I took that way. Still texting everyone esp. Lei when I suddenly saw a familiar handsome car, RAV4. Waaaahhh...tinignan ko kagad plate number. XPW is embossed on the plate...huwaaat??? Para akong gagu parang di pa ko sure kung yun nga ba plate number ni Bry XPW 621...hahaha...ang tanda ko na kasi e yung sa Faspitch....harharhar....Nag-panic kagad ako...Carol told us that they'll gonna be at Breakfast first but WTF is Bry's car doing in Saguijo??? O ghost lang ba yun? EWAN! But, but I can hear his quite tiny voice coming from inside cos I was near that other gate of Saguijo. Finally, I received a text message from Lei saying that she was already in Saguijo...Papasok na sana ako sa gate pero waaahhh...andun Boogie, hehehe atras...I pleaded Lei for help nagpapasundo ako sa labas and syang dating naman ni Uling...nuuuuuuuuu....cornered...cornere
•We still can't believe that their set is finished. Lei confirmed it and thank God they haven't played yet. 1:30 pa daw set. whew! We waited for Carolina outside, we haven't bought our tixes yet. Then, kita namin si Jamil....waaahhh! kaw ba yan? nagbabalik? Woooo! ang payat nya ah. Kaye also went with some of her housemates...Wow dami nga nila eh.
•Di na kami na kami nakaabot sa free shirts. Apparently only 50 shirts were given for the early birds. All we got is the white ring.
•I'm not sure who strted the show. But they didn't start at 9:00. Pumasok kasi kami Happy Meals tumutugtog....waaahhhh...Niño!!!! naaalala ko talaga si Bertow sa kanya...after them is Fatal Posporos...waaahhhh Aia was there...and she was wearing the pants I like. We found some seats after they performed... Ngorkz natakpan naman uli kami pero ok lang kasi pagod na kami sa pag-upo sa lapag. Kahit sina Kaye di na ata nakakain since la ng table na available. After Twisted Halo performed...whoa...lumuwang ah...hahahaha..we also went out after that. By the way, Nix and Ms. RockED hosted the event....hahaha...Nix is funny and they were giving away some free shirts.
•Ang lamok sa labas..pero sige na kaysa sumiksik sa loob...tagal ng Dicta ah...anong petsa na! past 1:30 na ata yun wala pa din sila. Andun na din Miggy...wieeehhh...and si Papa Angelo pa pala....hahaha...and at last Dicta came. Lei and I saw Pochoy outside sporting his new shirt, Pacquiao from Nike. Bry and Boogie came out from the parking. Bry greeted us in all white...hahaha...wearing his oversized cap.
•Bago pa mapuno ang loob we went inside and find a good place. Buti naman maganda. Hahaha...Pochoy was seated in the corner like a kid, waiting for his mates to set-up sayang nga at la akong kemra. Nix is playing Kel's part. Hahaha...baka kasi di makaabot Lalay from Pque gig.
•They only did 4 songs which are Daloy, Sugat, Araw and Complex...nyahaha...they can only play limited songs since Kel was not there...Too bad or too good kasi it seemed that the audience can't get enough of them yet? Bitin kaya....hahaha...Pochoy sang a RATM song which I don't know the title. Gotta find it out later. and I forgot the next song they did after that. Basta all the artists started to have an open session....waaahhhh...Pochoy did play bass and guitars...hahaha...papasikat pero alangan yung hawak nya sa bass.
•Pochoy is sooooooooooooooooo cute on guitars....waaahhhh...para syang bata talaga...I LOVE HIM. I LOVE HIM. POCHOY is <3....syet! If I only have a camera that night, I could have recorded all the songs they performed kahit hindi buo...ano baa...sayang yung moment na yun. TANGNA! bat di ko kasi dala...Boogie also did the drums on A New Tattoo while Gab on vocals....hahaha...cute ni Gab tumalon talon...ang igsi pero cute...hahaha...We we're surprised na sumulpot sya dun kasi wala sya sa Pque and namatayan sya...but he still jammed with them...Sama, pinagtatawanan nila si Boogie...hahaha...turo ng turo naman tong si Pochoy, e di sana sya na lang nag-drums din. Most of the songs, Miggy, Sir Vin and Ebe did the vocals. They did Smells Like Teen Spirit, Jeremy, ALive, Laklak, Magasin, Huling El Bimbo and even Ice ice Baby pero putol nga alng. Di memorize ni Sir Vin yugn rap...hahaha...ako kabisado ko. They ended it with Huling El Bimbo. Sir Vin: "di pa ba kayo magsisiuwi?" hahahaha....walang may gusto.
•Waaahhh...patapos na pala to di ko pa tinapos yesterday. Hmmmm....sabi ko na nga ba kay Lei mga 4:00 na kami makakauwi...hahaha...palate na palate na ito...nyahhaha...Carol's dilemma: wala syang kasabay pauwi. She thought of Jamil pero di na sila same ng way. Ayun. We're shy to approach Bry about that and may mga kausap din sya that time. Di na nga din ako nakapagpaalam. Buti na lang kay Pochoy nabati pa namin. He was outside talking to some buddies...hehehe...palingon-lingon nga. Alam ko he saw us leaving. But Lei and Carol were busy talking kaya ako na lang umepal and waved at him...hahaha...moment ko na yun...ankyot! Tapos ayun pinansin din nila...hehehe...

Friday. Eto lang masasabi ko, na-miss ko yung dicta kahit ilang ulit ko ng naririnig yung kanta nilang sugat, daloy, ating araw & dekada. Take note, hindi ako late nung friday ah. Mukhang nangangapa lang ako sa meeting place kasi wala akong cellphone. Buti na lang at naka-chat ko si Carol that day. Sabi niya wag na daw akong umidlip coz baka ma-late ako. Buti na lang at hin di na ako umidlip nun kasi for sure, 7pm na ang gising ko nun, hehehe.... After ng chat namin, nag-log out na ako & then naligo sabay paalam sa tita ko na uuwi ako ng rizal that day (pero b4 umuwi, gig muna). 6:30 nasa galleria na ako, umikot na ako sa 4 na sulok ng mcdo..aba! walang mga naliligaw na kriminals ah, tinignan ko yung oras, maaga pa naman para iwanan nila ako. So hantay lang ako kasi wala naman ako magagawa kung hindi maghintay kasi wala akong cellfone para i-txt sila ng ganito: MGA LECHE, ASAN NA KAYO?.... then i decided to go upstairs baka nasa KFC sila sa 4th floor kasi yun yung unang sabi ko kay Ja sa chat nung morning. Then, pagkalabas na pagkalabas ko....ay! si PAOLO! whoah, ewan ko na lang kung hindi ko pa makita si Pao sa laki niya, buti na lang nakita ko sila, tsk Magkasama si Adette, yeeeiihhh!!!Hehehe...may kasama na ako, akala ko mamumuti ang mata ko kakahintay. Ako ang nauto, ako naman nagpauto kaya iniwanan namin sina Pao & Ja para hintayin sina Carol, Lei & Dugay sa galle. Mega lakad ang ginawa namin ni Adetta papuntang megamall, whew! awa ng Diyos, may paa pa ako kaya lang nagwawang-wang na siya. Pagpunta namin sa powerbooks, tanong agad kami kung may kjwan album na. Hahaha!! kakadeliver lang daw at nasa stock room pa. "pasensiya na manang, yung bata eh di masyadong excited" so pagdating kahon, "click!" picture syempre ang bata kasama pa si manang sales lady, pose naman ang loka, hahaha!!! then alis na kami sa mega at lakad ulit. Tinitext na namin ang mga mokang...aba! ayaw magsipag-reply sa txt. Hindi tuloy namin alam ni adette kung pupunta pa kami sa Galle o diretso na kami sa metrowalk. Medyo, hinihingal na ako nun kakalakad kaya nag-stop muna kami sa mcdo at dun binuksan yung cd, hehehe...cute ng album. Wala talagang nag-reply kaya nag-decide na kami ni adette sa metrowalk na namin sila hintayin. Nasa pedestrian lane na kami ni Adette sa tapat ng banco de oro bldg ng may nakasabay akong naka-Orange POTEEEKKKK!!! si Pao pala, anak ng hinayupak! sa daan pa ako ginulat ng mokong. Andun na pala sila hindi man lang kumikibo. Shet! ayun hysterical sa daan habang tumatawid at ume-echo ang tawa ni Paoberto. Pagdating sa Metrowalk, hahaha!! si Kelley agad ang nakita ko sa taas, FUCK! bakit agad ako nilamig...whhaaahhh!! na-miss ko si Tabs sobra. Engot ko, di ko nakita si Boogie, nasa baba lang pala. Akyat kami sa taas sa Elbow's room. Ok yung place, malaki & madaming tao. Baba ulet kami para mag-CR, then nakita naming nagperform ang Brigada sa baba. Hottah! hottah! Hootah! ayus, galing nung nag-exhibition. Grabe, ganun lang pala yung instrument ni Jorel sa brigada, eh kahit ako kaya ko yun eh. Wait, biglang nag-disappear si Jorel & sabay ng txt ni Lei na naiwan sa taas at hindi sumama sa amin sa baba kasi may nakita siyang old friends sa listers yata ng sugarfree. Kjwan na pala ang nagse-set sa taas so akyat na kami. Nahiya pang umupo, pero nung dumami yung tao, ayun, sisikan na. Si ja, lei & adette lang ang nakatayo at kami nasa unahan at prenteng nakaupo habang tumutugtog ang kjwan. Nyay! ang pusang galang mata ni Marc, ayan na naman...Grrr!!! Yeeeiiihh, si Kelley, galing galing lalo na yung bass dun sa pintura whhaaaahhh!!!!! pero wala ng mas gagaling pa dun sa nag-smackDown na girl sa stage whahaha!!! shet, sayang ang pose, nawala na lang bigla. Wala na din sa harapan sina Dugay, Pao & Carol. Nung uminom kami ni Adette, nakita namin si Bry, aba! BAGONG SHAVE ah. BRY: Ahit pogi. OO na lang tayo. Pogi naman talaga eh. Poging Lamig...parang kaning lamig..BAHAW!! pero hindi panis hahaha!!! tapos balik ulit kami ni adette sa pwesto. Iniwan kami ni adette sa pwesto at pumunta yata kina pao, maligalig na bata. Naiwan ako, si ja & Lei. Whahaha!! Kaming 3 na naman mga GURANGS ang nagsama-sama, tsk! Nag-cr ako nun ang alam ko before mag-set ang dicta. Woy, daming nakita papunta pa lang ng Elbow Room, there was Kel and Tams up there and Boogie down there...nyahahaha...There were already quite a number people in the venue. Lei even met some familiar faces from the Sugarfree ML. And we decided to go down first to kill the time. We've seen Brigada performed with all these fire dancing effect...hehehe...so cool yet can be very dangerous. We were so amazed na hala text ni Lei nag-seset-up na daw Kjwan...hahaha...bilis ni Pao o...hahaha..and as usual we positioned ourselves nearly infront of the stage..tapos basta bigla na lang lahat nasa harap na...Too bad each band can only perform 3 songs...So bitin! Pao, Jo, Lei, Carol and Dugay were all seating down while me and Adette were left standing up taking pics. I can't take to sit down with my skirt. Did try it in 6UG and mahirap talaga..I think Chicosci followed Kjwan and hahaha...sabi na nga't ayokong umupo kasi pinatayo din ni Miggy...dami pa namang Chico listers...si Carol wawa, nakaupo pa din sa unahan hanggang matapos na yung set ng Chicosci...hahaha..
Kami matatag ni Lei, we stayed infront until Dicta habang yung mga bata nagliliwaliw kung san. Adette seized the moment to have her new Kjwan CD signed.Tsk. ayan sayang di ko tuloy natikman yugn test tube baby aka Jagermeister...duga...duga...

Ayaw niya, hahaha pero napilit din...Woo!!! all out performance indeed....yiiii nagpapakita na ng abs...more! more! take it off take it off....hahaha...joke! Bry, on the other hand is sporting ah well semi-clean-cut look and "ahit-pogi" daw sya...eeerrgghhh...hehehe...here are some pics I took that night.

We stayed outside for some air, grabe ang usok sa loob! sakit na ng mata ko and ubo na ko ng ubo...pumasok na lang uli kami when The Dawn was playing. But we can't help but not to sit for a while. We've been standing for how many hours. Waaahhh...I think Udub followed after The Dawn...huhuhuhu...they didn't perform Future...Dugay is a lucky one she got this area almost near Jan-jan...ayus ah....waaahhh...my legs were killing me again got to rest them and sit. Sandwich ended the event, who jammed with Miggy and Jet Pangan. Sayang la na ata si Marc that time, he did perform 2trick pony..ayun...wow saya! jampacked ang place and we're really exhausted...paalis na may nagbakbakan pa! waaahhh...we can hardly move fast since we're weak na and all we wanted is to go home. Though Jo, Dugay and Carol stayed up til morning for Kjwan's NU First Show guesting the next day.
